Event Description
<p>In the final Energy Policy Seminar of the spring semester, Dr. Ashley Nunes, Director, Office of Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy, will give a talk entitled, "On Achieving Energy Dominance." Q&A to follow. Buffet-style lunch will be served.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Registration:</strong> RSVP required. A Harvard University ID or MIT ID is required for in-person attendance. MIT affiliates must check in with HKS Security at the Wexner entrance with a valid photo ID before proceeding to the seminar room. <strong>Please be advised that this seminar is off the record and will not be streamed or recorded. </strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>About the Speaker: </strong>Dr. Ashley Nunes is Director, Office of Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy. He leads a team that advises the Office of the Secretary and the agency at large on issues related to energy production, job creation, infrastructure investment, and state, local, and tribal policy. In preceding roles, Nunes executed policy analysis for the Department of Defense, Department of State, and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. He has held academic appointments at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he taught courses on energy economics and examined how innovation affects markets. Nunes received his doctoral degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.</p>
