Event Description
<p>A conversation between MEI Faculty Chair <strong>Professor Tarek Masoud</strong> and<strong> Micah Goodman</strong>, Israeli scholar, author, philosopher and current Research Fellow at Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. This event is part of the Middle East Initiative's series, the "Middle East Dialogues." Additional series speakers this semester include Dutch-Palestinian political analyst <strong>Mouin Rabbani</strong> and Egyptian businessman and investor <strong>Naguib Sawiris</strong>.</p><p><strong><em>This event is open in person to HUID holders only. Registration is required for this event. </em></strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>About the Speaker:</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Micah Goodman</strong> is an Israeli scholar, author, philosopher and current Research Fellow at Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. Goodman was named by the Jerusalem Post as one of the 50 most influential Jews in 2017 and by Liberal Magazine as one of the 100 most influential Israelis in 2019. He is the author of seven best-selling books. His first three books – <em>Moses’s Final Speech, The Dream of the Kuzari</em>, and <em>The Secrets of the Guide for the Perplexed</em> – explore classic Jewish thought. His next four books – <em>The Wondering Jew, Catch 67, The Attention Revolution,</em> and <em>The Eighth Day</em> – explore contemporary Israeli issues and ideas. He is one of the founders of Mabua – Israeli Beit Midrash, and along with Efrat Shapira Rosenberg, hosts the popular Israeli podcast <em>Mifleget Hamachshavot</em> produced by Beit Avi Chai.</p>
